Lets be honest, no body enjoys the sound of a loud beeping alarm clock going off in the morning-not only were you in the middle of a awesome dream, but you have to face the stark reality that you have to get out of your bed and get going!

But your day doesn’t have to stay the way it starts! Life is great! Just look around you! Its easy to moan, all of us have problems (and yes some are worse than others), but it’s easier to be happy!

Whether you’re stuck in the abyss of negativity, or just want to get the most out of your day to day living, these tips are guaranteed to make a positive difference!

So where do you start?

It has been shown that making the smallest of changes to your daily routine, whether it is to your diet, outfit or activities, can make a big difference to your emotional, spiritual and psychic well-being. Below are some tips that can help brighten your day, and get you on track to a positive, happier you!

  • Exercise

For example, cycle to work instead or driving or exercise during your lunch hour. I’m not telling you to exercise because you or overweight- exercise releases endorphins into the body that actually make you feel happy! As you exercise you will feel better about yourself, and will feel more accomplished in your day!

  • Call a friend or family member that you have been meaning to call for a while but haven’t gotten quite around to doing

Yes we know that your busy and you don’t have time, but you will be amazed at how much better you will feel after chatting to them and reminiscing.

  • Be clean

Whether it’s cleaning your home, car or desk; cleaning and re-organising will help you to de-clutter your life in one extra way. Clean environments make it easier for you to relax, and can provide a haven for you to escape your daily distractions!

  • Eat healthy

A healthy body leads to a healthy mind. So trade the junk for something healthy. I love chocolate just as much as the next person, and I’m not saying to drop junk all together; but healthy foods are scientifically proven to help make us feel better about ourselves. Berries are particularly good at making you feel better as they contain healthy antioxidants that will give you energy and make you feel great!

  • Sit in the sun

Vitamin D from sunlight has proven to release endorphins (similar to those released when you exercise) which help to put you in a good mood. So take the time out of your day to go outside and take in the miracle of nature that surrounds you! (The tan is just a bonus!)

  • Be charitable

Whether it is buying some flowers for your partner, giving some food or money to the homeless or simply donating to a charity; It is proven that as we give of ourselves, we make ourselves feel better, while blessing the lives others.
