Attitude of Gratitude
No matter how difficult your life may seem, it is important for your emotional, spiritual, and physical welfare that you maintain a strong sense of gratitude, love and appreciation for all that you have. It is obvious that people who count their blessings are generally happier and healthier than people who don’t.
As you make an effort to be grateful for all that surrounds you, you will be able to see a difference in your life and your relationship with others. So how can you become more grateful?
Relax
Feelings of anger, frustration or anxiousness can make it very difficult to recognise all the things to be grateful for in your life.
Live in the moment
Thinking too much about the past and the future leads us to comparison; leading to feelings of inadequacy, and dissatisfaction with all that you already have. What you have now is all that exists-and comparing that to something that doesn’t exist anymore (or yet) is an easy way to leave you feeling ungrateful.
Appreciate the little things
Some of the most amazing things that life has to offer, occur everyday-but our appreciation for them weakens overtime because we get so used to them. A healthy practise is to carry a notebook with you and write down all the little things you are grateful for.
Cherish any kind of happiness in your life
Don’t take life too seriously, make time in your week to have fun. Learn to laugh-and make an effort to smile – you will feel the difference immediately!
