Feel worthy of Love: Forgive yourself
Sometimes our feelings of unworthiness lead us to behave in ways that aren’t really consistent with who we really are. These mistakes tend to trigger feelings of guilt and shame, which then makes us feel even worse and into a spiral of negative emotions.
In our last blog we looked at understanding our roles, and this can make it alot easier for us to forgive ourselves; for example, if you recognise yourself as a Star Child, with a need to shine in order to feel love, you may have trampled over others in order to be successful, which may have left you feeling guilty. But it’s time for you to realise that whatever bad feelings you have had about yourself and the mistakes you may have made- that guilt about the mistakes you have made, and paranoia that you may be too anxious or needy-are part of being human, and don’t make you unworthy of love.
It is easy to feel overwhelmed with the negative aspects of our personality, but it is important to remember that while you may focus on the individual parts of yourself that you don’t like (whether physical or personal), others see you for the good more than you know! Accepting your whole self for who you are (including the bits you don’t like that much) is an important part of reversing damaging childhood messages.
Forgive yourself for thinking your unloveable. You are an exceptional individual who is deserving of love and happiness just like everybody else. Nobody is perfect, and the sooner you realise that, the sooner you can move on and enjoy love in your life again!
