Magic Numbers – Numerology

What is it?

Numerology dates all the way back to ancient Greece. Indeed, the most frequently practised form of numerology today is based on the teachings of Pythagoras.

As well as being a famous mathematician, Pythagoras also believed the physical world was made up of the energy and vibrations of numbers.

He developed a system of numerical interconnectivity that shows how all numbers have a distinct meaning within our lives.

Numerology is not dissimilar to astrology. In astrology, different planets and zodiac signs are connected to specific cosmic influences and personal attributes. In much the same way, according to the teachings of numerology, certain numbers are associated with specific traits or themes.

These numbers provide insight into personality, future events and even life’s greater purpose.

Zodiac Signs and Understanding Your Ruling Planet

Astrology is probably the most well-known form of psychic reading.

What’s your number?

We each possess two numbers: a Life Path Number and a Destiny Number.

Your Life Path Number is determined using the numbers from your date of birth and reveals your greater purpose in life, including your strengths, weaknesses, talents, and ambitions.

Meanwhile, your Destiny Number is determined using the letters of your name alongside a chart that assigns letters to numbers, courtesy of Pythagoras himself.

This number offers insight into how you will express yourself and achieve your goals.

In order to get started, you’ll need to do a bit of maths to find your numbers or, if you prefer, you can use a handy Numerology calculator to save some time and avoid making any errors.

Numerology - Life Path and Destiny Numbers

What does it all mean?

Having calculated your Life Path Number and Destiny Number, it’s time for the fun part – finding out what the numbers actually mean and what they can tell you about yourself.

  • One

symbolises a pioneering spirit and leadership capabilities. However, it can also be bossy or boastful, so it’s important to remember that, while One does come first, it can also be the loneliest number.

Even the most autonomous Ones need the support of their friends, family and partners.

  • Two

is linked to sensitivity, balance, and harmony. Assuming the role of mediator, Two brings together discordant forces through compassion and kindness, while avoiding conflict at all costs. Two is also linked to psychic abilities and intuition.

  • Three

is extremely gifted in communication and sharing innovative ideas through art, writing and discourse. Finding joy in delighting others, Three is also known to be prone to low moods and feeling misunderstood. It’s important for Threes to find moments of quiet to reset and recharge.

  • Four

is practical, hardworking and responsible with a focus on creating logical systems for development and growth. While Four is solid and reliable, it’s important not to become stubborn or let solidity devolve into rigidity. Rules are meant to enhance, not inhibit.

  • Five

is defined by freedom, spontaneity and being impulsive. However, it can be difficult for Five to accept life’s day-to-day responsibilities, which means they can also become restless and impatient.

  • Six

is nurturing and supportive, with the ability to problem-solve. A natural caretaker, Six has a strong sense of responsibility to friends and family but its protective energy can become domineering. It’s important to learn to allow others to discover their own paths.

  • Seven

is known for its investigative spirit and analytical skills. Extremely detail-oriented, Seven has a keen eye and a quick-wit. As a perfectionist, it can be quick to find fault in others’ work or opinions, so it’s important for Seven to balance scepticism with an open mind.

  • Eight

is ambitious, goal-oriented and successful. Assuming leadership positions and naturally climbing to extraordinary heights, there is a danger of Eight becoming obsessive, controlling and unfeeling towards others. Directing some of its winning energy to the pursuit of helping those less fortunate is a great way for Eight to find balance.

  • Nine

is no stranger to life’s ebbs and flows. Flexible and adaptable, Nine’s ultimate goal is to achieve spiritual awareness and inspire others to do the same. However, Nine must remember to anchor itself in the real world and balance fantasy with reality.

As you might imagine, we have barely scratched the surface here and there are many nuances to determining what spiritual path to take. Let us help to guide you in exploring these ideas further.
