You don't need to have everything figured out. In fact, forcing certainty could make you more anxious. Give people enough room to reveal who they are instead of filling in the blanks. Watch what they do. Their strengths, weaknesses and intentions will become much clearer. You may discover someone isn't capable of what you hoped - or, better still, that they're more dependable than you thought.
